A supertalented 13-year old girl from Minnesota is giving us primary household goals. She is not a professional interior designer, but she is exceptionally talented in drawing her inspirations in SketchUp software. She not only works on the software but also delivers her designs on a model. Despite her age, she is insanely good at presenting details and finishes in her projects. Her works can make you wonder how beautiful life can be in a dollhouse. She mostly worked on themes like ‘life in a dollhouse’, but the primary reason for her fame was her work of building a miniature model of a bakery at Chip, as well as Jo Gaines’s Magnolia Market at the Silos.
More about the project of the Bakery!
Ella stated that it is one of her favorite projects by far. And Jo herself noticed the detailed work she has done in replicating every inch of the space to the drinks in the cafe fridge. Jo reposted the work of Ella on Instagram, which gave a boost to the publicity of Ella and her work. Her Instagram account @life.in.a.dollhouse is now growing at a magical speed, giving wings to this young dreamer.

A 13-year-old girl from Minnesota runs her business from the basement of her house. She now likes to call it her office. She is a creative and hardworking child who creates miniature versions of her imaginations. She runs an Instagram page and an online store by the name of @life.in.a.house, where she shares all the details of her miniature works.
She likes to add minute details to the rooms and furnishings of the models of her miniature building.
Ella started her career at the age of 11 after she got inspired by the tiny kitchen videos, “House Beautiful.” She thought it was the coolest thing to do, so she started making mini boxes. She, along with her grandfather, worked together to what she was entitled to make. She uses SketchUp software to create her 3D models and also a 3D printer to make most of her workpieces.
Ella’s Business
She runs her business in two parts:
- Miniature room vignettes which she creates herself
- Her online store, where she sells her work of art
She says that she never gets tired of creating tiny products by herself. Her designs are so intricate that they have become hit with major big-name designers’ works. Her work with Jo has resulted in the huge popularity of her page online.
She has this urge to become an interior designer because of her parents, who are builders. Ella’s first model was inspired by one of the buildings they have built. She got most of her ideas from her parents.
She looks forward to becoming a professional interior designer. Ella is also planning to continue her business along with middle and high school. She states that she wants to be a professionally trained interior designer on one beautiful day. She is hoping to get more and more projects to polish her skills and to get extra pocket money.
